Overview
Teotihuacan, a World Heritage-UNESCO archaeological park located outside of Mexico City, was once the most important city in Mesoamerica. On this one-of-a-kind tour with an archaeologist, you’ll discover ancient marvels like the third-century Palace of Quetzalpapalotl, topped off with a tequila tasting and visit to a local obsidian workshop. Leave the navigation to someone else, and enjoy hotel pick-up for a seamless trip.
What to Expect
After hotel pick-up, relax on a scenic, hour-long drive to Teotihuacan, Mexico’s “City of Gods.” Built between the first and seventh centuries, and covering an area of eight square miles (21 square kilometers), the UNESCO-listed park was once a thriving city. Hear about its mysterious origins from your archaeologist guide, who will tell you stories about its ancient residents and theories about the city’s decline.

During this informative tour, you’ll see less-visited temple complexes as well as world-famous attractions including the Pyramid of the Mood and Pyramid of the Sun, which you can climb for incredible views. Explore the intricate murals and stone-cut designs at Temple of Quetzalcoatl, where you’ll get a first-hand peek at the latest archaeological findings.

Afterward, you’ll stop at an obsidian workshop, where you’ll sample cactus-brewed liquors and hear how traditional craftsmanship is being kept alive by local families.

Poor Service - Not As Advertised

Firstly, the tour did not have archeologists as advertised which is not acceptable considering that was a major selling point and is advertised prominently. The tour guide was unprofessional, dressed in dirty clothes, and had his pants unzipped most of the tour (not even kidding)....More

Great tour of the pyramids, ends in a tourist trap

This tour was wonderful--Robert, our guide, was fun and very informative. The complex itself is amazing. However, on the way home, you stop at a ridiculously overpriced store where you learn a bit about obsidian and you sample liquors made from the agave plant, such...More

I paid about $300 for this tour. 2 people pick up in CDMX with a private guide and a "tequila tasting" at the end. The other tours are not private that's why this one is more. I think it saved us a lot of time not waiting... More
