What to expect
Receive an included pickup in the morning from your San Juan hotel, after which you’ll transfer by air-conditioned bus or van through a number of local Puerto Rican towns heading to El Yunque, one of the oldest forest reserves in the Western Hemisphere. You’ll continue into the rainforest, heading to the first trailhead to take your first guided nature walk. As you wander along the trail, your guide will introduce you to the exotic varieties of flowers and the fresh ginger that grow alongside your route. You’ll also learn about the reserve’s significance to the local Taino Indians, who have long considered the area as sacred. Continue to the reserve’s El Portal Visitor Center, where you’ll have time to explore the exhibits including an elevated forest walkway, walking trails, and educational displays as you learn more about this unique ecosystem. Leave the visitor center behind and head to La Coca Falls, an 85-foot (26-meter) cascade that plunges down a series of rock formations into a shallow pool. Then head to Yokahú Tower, a 69-foot (21-meter) tall tower offering unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside, plus a range of lush plant life like wild flowers, giant ferns, tropical hardwoods, and tree orchids growing nearby. After your stop at the tower, you’ll receive a transfer back to your San Juan hotel.

AWESOMENESS!
Aug 2021 • Couples
This was an amazing tour.
The Guides were knowledgeable , Cautious  and Fun!

The hike was definitely not for everyone. I would not advise anyone who hasn't hiked to take this tour. Seniors and kids should also steer clear. The trails are muddy and can be slippery so Aqua hiking shoes would  be best. You need something that has good grip and can be worn in and out of the water. With that being said, I absolutely loved it. Hike was fun  and adventurous.  The waterfalls were  awesome and fun as well. I am definitely going to book this tour on my next trip  to PR.
Tour Guide Julian was very helpful  both on and off the tour.
Gracias Familia.

Big Joe and Mitchell are the best! Must go!
Jun 2021 • Friends
This was my second time on this tour and exceeded the first time, which was already an incredible experience. Tour guides, Big Joe and Mitchell, were an absolute blast to be with and both so kind. We felt like we were stepping into their backyard. Leaving the rainforest with such an appreciation for the place, lots of laughs, incredible food, and memories that will last a lifetime. We would all highly recommend this tour! Do not go to PR without adventuring out here.

Muddy but amazing
Jun 2021 • Family
The tour was challenging and exciting and beautiful. The rainforest is so green and lush and the flowers were gorgeous! Be prepared to get muddy and wet and then more muddy! The tour guide Frankie told us fantastic history of Puerto Rico and the Rain forest! He pumped us up the entire time!

Overall it was good

Overall it was good, although the description says that they give snacks and they don't. They argued that because of covid they do not provide snacks, and that is a bit ridiculous when it is easy and safe to provide individually wrapped snacks.

DIRTY FUN
This tour was one of the BEST tours. We had James and Big Jo as our guide and they were funny. safe also. I cant swim at alll but on that tour they made me comfortable enough to jump in water and do a water slide. This hike is going to get u dirty. But you’ll have sooooo much fun. The food after was AMAZINGGGG. BOOK THIS TOUR.

The experience was phenomenal! The tour guides were by far the best, super friendly, very informative and they also made sure to capture the best moments for us. Definitely highly recommend when visiting. The food stop was also amazing at the end of the trip.

Great Guides
My wife and I did the half day El Yunque trip and did enjoy it. The trail while muddy was relatively straight forward and most imbour group did it without issue. The waterfall slide was fun as was the rope swing and areas to cliff dive. If coming with a tour group, try to get the earliest starting one to avoid waiting on others. We we're lucky to be first but saw many other groups behind us who ended up waiting for certain activities until we were done. If you are looking for more quiet/solitude or advanced trails, I would recoend going on your own (just book a park reservation in advanced). The reason for 4 stars and not 5 here is because our group was much larger than anticipated at over 20 people whic made things not as enjoyable at times.

Half day tour
Feb 2021 • Family
This tour was so much fun. The tour guides were so nice and very knowledgeable. I had my two sons with me and the guides helped me with them throughout the whole time. I was very impressed. Expect to get very muddy and dirty. It’s such a beautiful place in Puerto Rico to visit. Must do tour! The guides take photos for you and send them to you before you leave .

Great experience
Feb 2021 • Friends
First of all, if you think this a regular hike in the trails, let me tell you, it’s not! At some point, I was anxious and felt as if I was in one of those survival shows on Discovery Channel. We had to do lots of climbing, it was also muddy everywhere and slippery so be prepared and be very careful. Our tour guides were amazing and helped us throughout the whole hike, otherwise I think we would’ve been screwed. Bring hiking shoes and be prepared to have mud all over you, especially if you fall( like I did lol). Once you get to the waterfalls from the top, you’ll have to either jump or go down in the water slides in order to get down which is the easiest if you aren’t afraid, BUT our tour guides were nice enough to show some people the other way down that doesn’t include those two options. For the non swimmers relax because once you either jump or go down the water slide there will be someone down there to catch you, plus you’ll be wearing a life jacket. My only disappointment was that we didn’t get to see the tower, other than that it was challenging, but felt proud afterwards.
