Experience the natural beauty of El Yunque Rainforest while hiking, river trekking and rock climbing.  Enjoy spotting its flora and fauna, scenic views and gorgeous hidden waterfalls, natural pools and slides, while walking with your knowledgeable certified tour guide.

This is a moderate to strenuous activity and may not be suitable for everyone.  Please read entire description before booking in order to avoid any inconveniences.

Post hurricane (2017) notice: Most of the popularly known trails remain closed until further notice.  Our tour route has been adapted in order to continue offering a full day of pure adventure.
Highlights
  • Explore the hidden gems of El Yunque rainforest
  • Spend the day hiking and swimming in natural pools
  • Avoid the crowds and popular sites on this off-the-beaten-path tour
  • Great for the adventurous who have previously visited El Yunque
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup at your hotel or central San Juan location. Bring your hiking boots, comfortable clothing, a bathing suit, towel, and change of clothing. At El Yunque, your hike—approximately 35 minutes—takes you to a secret natural pool with a waterfall. Enjoy the local flora and fauna of the area, such as rainforest flowers and Coqui tree frogs, before taking a dip in the natural pools. Dry off before continuing on a 40-minute uphill hike. Next, visit  El Portal Center to learn about the tropical rainforest, the only one in the US National Forest System. After another short, rocky hike, finish your adventure at another secluded pool with a natural water slide and a rope that swings into the river. After a stop for local Puerto Rican food (own expense), your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

You might have to. Hiking path is difficult, and no one could take pictures during it, not to mention you could drop your phone or get it wet.

Do you only book tours from San Juan? We're staying in Luquillo to be near Yunque. We'd like an exciting but safe tour of hiking & swimming. Thsnk you, Betty Silberman
