Puerto Rico Caving, Hiking, and Body Rafting Adventure
From US$140,00
Overview
Get access to a private nature reserve on land once home to the Taino Indians during this adventure tour in Arecibo. With a guide in the lead to provide instruction and ensure your safety, body raft through rain forest canyons, explore river caves, and hike through the forest. Receive personalized attention and have plenty of time to ask questions about the local flora and fauna as you travel in a small group of 10 people or fewer.
What to Expect
Customize your tour by choosing the self-transportation option or pickup in San Juan. Meet your guide and group at the private nature reserve, the ancestral homeland of the Taino Indians. This tour will give you access to the river and rain forest in that nature reserve, as well as guided commentary and instruction for all activities.

Begin with a hike through the rain forest, during which your guide will teach you about the local flora and the ways in which the Tainio people used all the plants. Then go spelunking through deep caves to see unusual rock formations and refuel with a picnic lunch. Then, your guide will show you how to float on your back and body raft, between the towering walls of canyons. Your life vest keeps you afloat; no swimming skills are needed.

A short hike through the forest takes you back to your departure point at the nature reserve.

Don't think twice - do this adventure! You won't be sorry. It's worth every penny & then some!

This isn’t an out-of-the-can Disney-type tour. These folks truly care about the island, and are walking the walk (not just talking the talk) - they've done the research, they understand the landscape and are working hard to conserve it. True caretakers. Their efforts help to...More

Fun, thrilling, beautiful

My boyfriend and I had a great time on this tour. I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie, so this was a great option for me. The river was very mellow when we were there, so there wasn't much "rafting" but it still felt...More

Gorgeous view of San Juan's rainforest and rivers cannot be beat!

Although the river is considered public property, there was NOBODY there enjoying the incredible views when we were there. We were super glad that we bought our waterproof camera for footage! The car ride takes about 1 to1.5 hours (depending on traffic) from the meeting...More

If I remember correctly, we were picked up fairly early (~9:00 a.m.) at Plaza las Americas Mall and were dropped off at "home" in Old San Juan around 5:00 p.m.

The trip to the destination is about an hour. The guides make a pit stop at a local bakery to pick up sandwiches which were called in on the way. The actual excursion is a few hours. When you arrive at the destination (La... More
