    What to Expect
Meet the guide 15 minutes before 10:30am inside Julia Child Bistro. Enjoy this 4-hrour walking tour, conducted in English by a professional local guide. Participants are encouraged to offer themes or ideas for the walk, and the guide will incorporate that into his/her own plan, making it unique.

The tour will most likely* include: the writer Dostoyevsky and his Crime and Punishment, the active St Nicholas church, 18 century canals, bridges and backstreets of the historical Kolomna, the Mariinsky Theatre (without going inside) and the addresses of associated celebrities, the island of New Holland, the English Embankment, the Senate square and the Bronze Horseman, and much more, possibly a detour to the Troitsky cathedral and market, or even a visit to Vasilievsky Island with its many delights. Variations upon request are possible. Discuss the plan with the guide when you meet.

A stop for a coffee or snack can be made upon request, or you can request to be dropped off at a restaurant at the end of tour. Also possible to include a ride by public transport - a useful practical skill to learn in this city. Ask our guide where to go out for a traditional shot of vodka or where to buy a Soviet army hat, or anything else you want to do/see in St Petersburg but wouldn’t know who else to ask.

My teenage son and I learned about Peterswalk in Lonely Planet. We initially only intended to take the short group tour, but found out they would not be starting until mid-April after our trip was over. We ended up booking three half-day tours after reading...More

Thank you Matthew! We will make sure that Dmitri reads this review. Just so our readers know: the topics covered and the sites visited included Lenin (his younger years in St Petersburg prior to the revolution), Dostoyevsky and his Crime and Punishment, Grigory Rasputin, the...More

Thank you MrPhillyman! Your review conveys the spirit of our Original Walk perfectly, and hopefully will inspire readers to join this daily walk. Twenty-five thousand steps sounds like a lot though - did you really walk these 15-18 km during the 4-hr walk? We usually...More

Look for a YouTube channel called The Wayaway, they have done a video recently covering this when they visited. Its a great tour but wear good shoes as you cover a lot of ground!
