- SagarSavla00Fun thrill activity for entire familyWe did this in Nov (3A,2K). It was a lot of fun. Main reason for choosing this was our 6 year old was eligible to do it. He had a blast and this was his first zip line. In our whole South Africa tour he says this was his number one activity of the tour and that means a lot to us. Coming to the zip line itself. After a brief video and safety instructions you put on the gear, hop on a large bus and go to the zip line platforms maybe 10-15 minutes away. There are 10 zip lines you do. The guides are great, friendly and help ease any nerves you would have. We went on a day where there was no one else but us in the group and it was a great personal experience and we were not rushed anywhere. In peak season it will be crowded and little rushed. As I mentioned this was mainly for our 6 year old. We have done much higher and faster ziplines. It was decent thrill but there are more thrilling ziplines too. Depends on what you looking for. We also got the pictures and video package which was delivered to us via email in a couple of days. It was cheap so I took it. Video was decent and good memories.
- Sarah C00Several ziplines across the gorgeWhilst my plus-one did the zip lines I enjoyed wandering down the valley seeing him swing across the ravines to and fro. Some of the drops and gorges were quite huge. he loved it, and it was a quiet morning, mizzly weather so he had the place to himself!
- Rudenegerber00Great trip ziplining through the forestWe had a wonderful afternoon with two amazing guides, Jacky Williams and Temerine Jacobs. They were professional, helpful, knowledgeable and very good at what they do. The ziplines were zmazing and having a bird's-eye view of the forest was amazing
- JanKat10000Canopy on top of the world! One of the best experiences in my life. A must for the nature lover! Professional ,friendly and energetic guides.
- Laramce100Ziplining canopy tourAmazing experience, guides were very friendly and funny, knowledgeable and entertaining. Jackie and Zikhona made the experience so much more fun for the group of four. No fitness level required, great experience.
- Peak-District-Ian00Excellent Morning swinging in the treesSuperb experience. Worth paying extra for the photo and video package which was delivered super quick. Fun, Friendly guides who really made the exoerience. The rain forest is beautiful and we saw many birds and some baboons.
- NomapheloWitbooi00BestThe guy who was the team leader (Stephen if I remember his name correctly) was very helpful together with his assistants. I was afraid because of my low vision but the team made it easy for me. I would also recommend salary or wage increase to that team. Thank you
- RoosFranken1400Excellent!Beautiful views and long routes. Everything was well explained and demonstrated. Fantastic to do! xx
- Nidia L00Exhilarating zipline experience! An exciting and exhilarating experience with our great guides, Emogene and Juanita! Thank you for your kindness and patience. Well organised. Friendly en helpful staff. Highly recommended!
- Seaside3774871459700Very nice placeIt was really nice, the guides were very nice and professional, the photos they took were of really poor quality and it's a shame
- Fran202300Fantastic ExperienceWorth every cent! A most enjoyable and thrilling time, also beautiful swishing between those magnificent trees .
- Poedelkietjie00Fun and BeautifulI absolutely loved this experience! The guides were so well trained and made it fun for everyone. They knew a lot about the environment, and I was also able to do fun tricks whilst zipping. My less daring and more height frightened partner were also able to complete the course, with much surprise but the guides assisted very well. 10/10 and I definitely recommend going here. I cannot wait to return again
- crispen100The very bestWhat an experience I had, sliding through trees. I wouldn't mind to do it , ever smiling guides enjoying each and every moment 😊
- Tourist1524007308800A really exciting adventureWe had two awesome guides, Lucia and Tenille. I was petrified ( of heights), but they calmed me, reassured me, and it was really wonderful. My husband and my adult daughter loved every minute. What a pleasure to be looked after two such awesome women. The company should be proud of their staff. They are amazing.
- amberbottemanne00So exiting! We really much enjoyed this activity, our guides Ruwaan and Luciano made it really worth it! AWE AWE AWE!!!!! Definitely recommend!

We did the canopy tour during the school holidays, but still no excuse. You can not call this a tour, you get rushed from one platform to the next, just waiting for the group in front to have halfway left so our group can make space for the group behind us. There is no time to take in any scenery and our poor safety guide was so rushed and you could see that he was stressing and not enjoying it either. It was such a pity because the surroundings are amazing, we just did not have a single second to take it in..
I do not know if it is any better during off season, but would not recommend this to anybody. You can literally feel these guys counting their cash as you zip down the slides, no information about your surroundings, nothing about nature, it is just an amusement ride build in a pristine forest, which makes it even worse.

Dear Porcinip
Thank you for taking the time to review us.
Your feedback as a valued client is very important to us as it will help us maintain our excellent standards in the industry we have been dominating for more than 2 decades.
It is unfortunate that you had such a bad experience with us. I can assure you that our guides are trained to the highest standard required to be lead and safety guides, training comes with an overload of information on fauna and flora, history of the forest, and level 1 FGASA material. It is sad that you did not address this on the day you were with us so that we could have addressed the matter with the staff.
We strive to exceed expectations and make sure our clients come and enjoy value for their money. We are in no way driven by profit and this is seen by our commitment to educate, empower, and eradicate our staff and adjacent communicates with our various community projects.
I will not revert to making excuses but this is certainly not what we do; off-season or during a busy school holiday (our December 2019 reviews will tell you).
May I ask that you contact me via email at marketing@stormsriver.com, I would like to invite you and your family whom you did the tour back.
Many thanks
LM

First of, the team at Canopy Tours is world class in terms of their service. They are friendly and warm and you definitely get the feeling that you are being looked after.
The check in is seamless and you are given a drink of water or coffee/tea when you arrive.
There is a short drive to the tree tops. It is in the middle of nowhere but it is really small and you are not that high of the ground. The guides are amazing, they give you a really authentic South African guide experience. They mix English with some local slang including what “awe” means which we found funny as we had two English tourists with us.
The knowledge about the trees and a little history was quite cool. However the zip line covers 10 lines but it felt really short. They have capacity for 8 but we were four. With 8 people plus two guides the waiting period will be longer.
Zip lines do not harm the trees which is cool however it really feels too quick and I did not get the wow factor that I was going fast and at a high level. But was fun.
The guide did use our cell phones to take some photos for us and we used our cell phones as well to capture at some points. It is beautiful but way too short I felt for the price that it is being offered at.
Your tour does include a drink and a snack afterwards which is not bad at all.
The disappointing thing about the tour apart from it being really short, is that thy do charge you quite a bit extra if you want the video and photos of your tour. This to us is definitely a tourist trap as the price is very expensive. We noticed that quite a few activity tours offered in this region try to get the tourist to pay extra for the videos. It is something that the tourism officials need to look at because the prices for these are excessive. It is not ethical tourism and takes away from the value of this tour hence why we rated it 3stars.
These activity tour operators need to start realizing that tourists have a wide range of fancy cellphones and other cameras that can take great video and photos. Rather offer the videos and photos all inclusive than charge these ridiculous prices for the video/photos.

I was thinking that the canopy tour would be a washout as it was raining. But the competent staff clothed us in raincoats and off we went to experience the forest as a rain forest. It was fantastic with the trees all shrouded in mist and drenched in water. The guides were upbeat and knowledgeable and it all made for a wonderful outing.

The staff make this experience so much fun. I was petrified!! Faced my fear, but not conquer it....had it not been for Max's motivation and fun sense of humor I probably would have taken the escape route. It's really pretty there and a great accomplishment for someone like me who never thought they could do it.

Hi Javel166
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us and for choosing Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour to zipline at. We all have the little things that petrify us but I am glad you overcame yours with us cable sliding 30m above the forest floor. AMAZING!!!
Max is a real treasure and adrenalin junkie! Knows exactly how to handle every situation he comes across on the system. Really good to hear what our guides get up to in the forest.
I Will relay the review to Max.

This was such a great experience. I was quite nervous going into it as I am not exactly an adrenaline junkie - but this is truly an experience for everyone to enjoy.
The guides were funny and interesting. The beauty all around from above the treetops is incredible and you feel totally safe all the time.
Even the sandwich at the end was really yummy!
Highly recommend this!

It is quite normal to be nervous and as you saw canopy tours is not a high adrenaline activity. We find that most people who are nervous at first quickly adapt to the whole concept and have no problem at all on the slides. Well done to you for seeing it through till the end.
I am very happy to read you had a great experience;you enjoyed the company of our guides and you felt safe at all times. Thank you so much for the recommendation
Come back again soon and explore more of our beautiful Tsitsikamma and surrounding areas.
kind regards

The guides were fantastic - professional, felt very safe. There is no need to feel nervous but I guess we all are a little if doing this for the first time but there is no need to feel anxious. You get a simple but very clear briefing on what to do. We loved it, had lots of fun, really great experience for families!

Thank you Jackie for taking the time to review us and taking note of how important safety is to us. The safety briefing will either scare you if you are afraid of heights or it will make you excited for what lies ahead. So please to hear you found our guides fantastic and professional.
Stay safe and keep flying in 2021!!!

Great outing for our family. Vinolia and Alrin were superb. A real pity about the poor quality visors on our helmets though which were creased and flimsy and reduced the clarity of vision a lot. Cheap and easy to replace but the super-unfriendly operational manager was not interested in our complaint and even suggested we should leave if we weren’t happy! We see the need in view of covid, but come on guys - given the price of the activity, I really think you could do better on this point. Would have rated it a 5 otherwise.

Dear WaresCrew
So glad to hear you chose Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour as your choice of family activity while in the Garden of the Garden Route. Always amazing to host family and friends in our lush green forest.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us, it is always good to hear how you experienced it and where we can improve (there's always room for a little improvement :), even in an International Award-Winning company like ours). I am pleased to hear from you and fun with your family and found our guides superb! Can you believe Aldrin is actually new to the guiding department? He just completed his training and already a hit with the clients!
Tourism is one of the industry hit the hardest with lockdown and regulations, we are ever so thankful for clients like yourself that still feel it is safe to come out and explore and is appreciative of the protocols we have in place. The behavior of the Operations Manager as explained by you is inexcusable and most certainly not a representation of the team - you had an amazing time with Vinolia and Aldrin and it's a testament to it. I am glad you see the need for the visor, and hopefully, you will be back to come and explore without a visor when we are allowed to do so.
Wishing you and your family all the best.

We absolutely loved doing our treetop canopy tour! What an experience! Just to be on the platforms, ziplining through these ancient trees and absorbing the energy from this amazing forest was THE best thing ever.
Our guides were amazing and informative and put our frazzled nerves at ease right from the go (we had a few in the group that had some issue with heights - but the guides were simply amazing and got everyone to zipline and feel accomplished).
It turned out to be one of the best experiences ever!

We had a really great time at Tsitsikama Canopy Tours. Even though the weather was wet and rainy the Morne, Vinolia and Jamie still gave us the kind of sunny experience that put a smile on our faces. The forest was beautiful, the ziplines were quick and Morne was super knowledgeable. I now know what the difference between the Real Yellowood and the Outeniqua Yellowood is. My only wish is that the whole thing could have been longer.

Yes. Our son was 5 when we went and daughter was barely 7 (and very small). They had a blast. It was quite safe.
