Overview

In this small group tour, you’ll tour the back alleyways in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district and visit three hidden Japanese bars. You’ll save time researching and planning your trip by having a guide to show you places that are usually difficult for tourists to find. Take the stress out of language barriers by having a local insider recommend which food and drink options to try and help you order.

What to Expect

Your evening begins by meeting your tour guide and starting the small group tour (up to eight people) in Shinjuku’s popular food alley Omoide Yokocho. This is where locals typically hang out and have a drink after work in Tokyo. You’ll be able to sample both food and drink in the backstreet Izakaya bars, with lots of traditional dishes to choose from like Sake, local beer and Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).

After the first bar, the next stop is Shibuya’s Ebisu Yokocho alley to visit two more bars and taverns. You’ll taste Tokyo local cuisine, hear live music, play games and take part in quizzes. It’s a great way to visit Tokyo’s hidden bars, meet locals and enjoy a stress-free evening out in Tokyo without any language obstacles.

Very good tour of the night life around West Shinjuku and Ebisu.

Went on tour with Ken during May'18 and was very satisfied with the tour. As a foreigner you probably wouldn't be able to access these types of places just out of fear of not being able to order and not knowing your way around. Ken...More

Hitomi is very nice but this tour was a little disappointing

Hitomi picked us op from Shinjuku station, with very clear instructions on where to meet as Shinjuku is enormous. Her English is good and she is very friendly and willing to answer all sorts of questions. The tour is advertised as going with a local,...More

Great time exploring Japanese Izakayas in Shinjuku and Ebisu

This is a great tour if you want to experience Japanese nightlife like a local. We explored the Japanese Izakayas at Memory Lane in Shinjuku then headed over to a more local bar scene at Ebisu Yokocho. Our guide Nanae was wonderful. There was never...More
