About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 878arleneo0 contributionsElectric bikes rock !!!We had a wonderful experience cycling through the beautiful Burren with Janet as our guide .. such knowledge of the area and she kindly encouraged any questions we had. A visit to Caherconnell Stone fort with sheepdog demonstrations and a lovely cafe is a great little stop off before exploring more of this wonderful area. Thank you Janet for a wonderful day.. and the sunshine :-) ArleneWritten 2 February 2024
- MiniRoadshow0 contributionsNovice ebikerJanet gave us an excellent introduction to the ebike experience and adjusted the bikes to fit us before riding off into the countryside. As a novice, I had a mini review from Janet to make my ride easier midway through the ride. Perfect. We stopped for photos and historical background to what we were seeing in the way of ancient structures and geological explanations for the unusual landscape. All in all, a pleasant afternoon in an interesting corner of the world with an enjoyable guideWritten 30 June 2023
- Karen V0 contributionsBiking the BurrenOur guide was great and very knowledgeable and proud of her historical connection to the area. The bikes were great as there were some decent hills to surmount. We stopped many times for exploring ruins, seeing the great display of wildflowers, to visit historical sites and to have lunch at the Burren center. Being old I fell behind and our guide, Janet, was caring and helped me make it! Well worth the adventure!Written 6 June 2023
- Pam K0 contributionsBiking the Burrens!Just so fun! A great experience in beautiful Ireland. Janet was a professional yet kind and interested in showing us the Burrens. Very helpful (above and beyond) with me!!Written 27 May 2023
- Diane I0 contributionsGreat bike tripLoved the whole experience. Was fitted for an ebike and helmet and took a short ride to get comfortable with the bike. Rode off. It was a group but my husband and I were it today... essentially a private tour. We heard and saw so much of the Burren and Janet was very knowledgeable and willing to share info. Saw karst landscape, cave ins, birds, plants, tombs, stone forts and my husband loved his lunch of a great carrot soup.Written 16 September 2022
- jennypS6013ZD0 contributionsFabulous 4 hours on electric bikes . Time well spentFabulous guided tour , Janet is very good guide, excellent local knowledge. Stopped to give us information on the history and ecology of the burrenWritten 16 October 2021
- Csal980 contributionsExcellent tour and thoroughly enjoyableA group of five of us did this tour. The bikes were excellent and very comfortable. The itinerary was a perfect length. Janet our guide was phenomenal. She was so knowledgable and had such expertise on the historical and geographical aspects of the area. We saw so much that we would have otherwise missed had Janet not pointed it out. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed it!Written 23 September 2020
- MarMar450 contributionsWe whizzed along!I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Mary and Janet are warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable hosts and tour guides. Check-in process is hassle-free and reassuring. The bikes (we took the e-bike option) are wonderful, the scenery stunning. We did a guided tour (about 25k easy cycling) with Mary, stopping at Caherconnell in time for the sheep dog demonstration which was a lovely bonus alongside the visit to the ring fort and the welcome coffee break. We also visited Poulnabrone dolmen. If you are interested in botany/archaeology/social history/geography there’s something in this tour for you, and it’s also a lovely way to get a taste of the stunning Burren landscape. Don’t miss it!Written 11 August 2020
- _patriciamccarthy160 contributionsFabulous Day OutI would definitely recommend this guided tour of the Burren and E-Whizz . It was great to meet Janet & Mary. Mary was a wonderful tour guide & great company, with lots of knowledge of the area we visited . It was a fantastic day out and the electric bike was just brilliant it took the hard work out of the cycle 😊Written 7 August 2020
- Famoffour20120 contributionsGrand Day Out with JanetOur family did the half-day private tour of the Burren with Janet. Top to bottom, it was a great experience. Janet was a wonderful tour guide with a wicked sense of humor and the electric bikes made the entire trip hugely enjoyable for all. We'd never used e-bikes before, but they were easy to learn and made us all feel super fast and athletic. Best tour of our weeklong vacation!Written 30 August 2019
- DaveNBPT0 contributionsSuper easy way to explore the BurrenIf you can ride a bike, you can do this tour. (If you can't ride a bike, don't pretend that you can because we had 2 people in another group who needed to ride in the van because they didn't do bike riding.) A very nice time outdoors, spent biking through the Irish countryside. A nice lunch at a local cafe (self-pay) in the middle of the tour. Not enough time to see the attached ruins and archeological dig, but you can always come back to see it (as we did after the tour was done). Beware the Irish weather however. It was cloudy and overcast the entire time we rode, but luckily no rain. We ended up having a great time and would highly recommend this tour if you're in the area.Written 25 June 2019
- day_V510 contributionsGreat experienceWe rented e bikes for the day and had wonderful time exploring the Aran Islands. Highly recommend you try this when visiting the area.Written 15 May 2019
- Christine_JK20140 contributionsThe best way to see the BurrenTravelling by electric bike has got to be the best way to see the Burren in County Clare, Ireland. And Janet's shop in Kilfenona has got to be the best place to hire one!! She's extremely knowledgeable and very helpful about places to visit and distances tooWritten 7 April 2018
- lizzieNYarea0 contributionsHighly recommendedI was in the area for a week or so and hired an electric bike from Janet twice. What an amazing experience! You can either go at regular speed with very little effort, or cycle hard and absolutely fly along, including up the hills! Such a great feeling. Janet has great recommendations for where to go. The battery lasts for ages so you can go all day. Hi-vis vest, helmet, bike lock and pannier bag were all included.Written 5 August 2017
- serena m0 contributionsSelf guided TourI booked this tour online, and then was emailed the next day to coordinate pickup and drop off times. Janet was so helpful from the beginning! It was easy to find with the GPS, just look at the picture ahead of time of what the front door looks like and then you will see it once you're on the Main St. My friend did NOT know how to ride a bike whatsoever and Janet helped her basically learn how to ride a bike! The E bikes are powered by a battery pack that works as an assist while you pedal. It's a lot of fun! And they provide you with a map and guidance on which way to go to see things you're interested in! I had the best time and it was the highlight of my stay in Ireland! I would highly recommend it because you're actually in the country side rather than looking at everything from a tour bus! Thank you again, Janet!!!Written 27 March 2017

Loved the electric bikes. Jannet was great and helped us navigate 9ff main roads from Kilfenore to Fanore beach. A swim and then a beautiful ride thru the Burren and out towards the perfumary. Spectacular, highly recommended.

A fantastic day cycling around the Burren. Janet convinced us not to take our originally planned route and offered one more off the beaten track where we got to see a lot more of the Burren itself. Thank you Janet!

This was an uncomparable opportunity to get into the Burren, so much better than any bus tour or drive-by. The equipment was top notch so the hills were no problem for us even tho we are "old." The support from the vendor was great; they even including a first aid kit in the saddlebag.

If you are headed to this area of Ireland, don't miss this tour!!! We did the self tour and it was very doable. The electric bike made the trip easy and we covered quite a bit of distance to see all sorts of amazing sites. Wonderful time!!!!

My wife and I recently did the self guided tour. With the e-bike choice, you can seamlessly crank out a full day itinerary in the area while also having time to relax all along the way at the sites and cafes. If you go out to the perfumery, it is a bit of a climb, but you can turn it on power mode and crank through if you're having any issues. My 5 month pregnant wife looked very leisurely while climbing the hill on power mode. Scenery in the area is beautiful, traffic is light on the roads you travel, though you will be on lightly trafficked roads built for bikes for the most part. Nice feature of the bikes is that it is tracking your distance for you so it is easy to use the written directions and know that say, in 2 km, will come upon XYZ site.

JANET provided excellent service. She picked us up at our Hotels in Doolin and drove us to Kilfenora and quickly set us up on the electric bikes and a map of a short tour and tips for where to eat cake at a café on the way. We happened to run into her and her guided tour along the way and she provided more advice on how to return to Kilfenora and see wild orchids on the way. She drove us to a bus stop at a nearby Village and even gave my daughter money to use the bathroom at the visitor center across the street. Fantastic service and good quality Bicycles and just the right length of Tour.

Way exceeded our expectations! We had a blast renting electric bikes for 1/2 day for a self guided tour with our teenage kids. We did the cliff walk all morning and were a bit tired. Thank goodness for electric bikes!! Janet was so nice to email with and when we arrived, had our bikes waiting for us. If we rented all day, they would have delivered to our hotel but this worked out better! She gave us a map and we rode all through gorgeous countryside roads in Kilfenora. Parts were so green with magnificent farmland, cows and horses. We passed a beautiful old church. Other areas looked like the Burren with rocky terrain. We passed very few cars and we all loved it. The bikes were excellent!! Top quality. It was our first time on an electric bike and I would not have enjoyed the hills without it! It’s super easy to learn and you can have as much “assist” as you want. We had to pedal but it was very easy and the electric part gave us the push that made it really fun!! We all gave this a 10!

This was amazing! My husband and I had such a great time - we booked a trip on a week when our 3 tween-agers were at camp but they easily could have done this trip (and we actually ended up finding a different ebike tour to take them on in a different part of Ireland closer to our home base and they LOVED it). We opted for the self-guided trip just because of scheduling but would have loved to have taken one of Janet's guided tours. As it was, she gave us great suggestions of where to go - definitely go to Caherconnell! The equipment was awesome - I usually hate biking in the rain back home but with the ebikes I just had a permanent grin the whole time!

Can we rent the e-bikes for longer than the 2hours noted for the 'tour'?
Written 17 August 2019
we rented the ebikes for about 2-3 hours and could have kept them longer. i believe it will depend on the owner's availability to meet you back at the shop for return of bikes.
