I travelled from São Paulo to Amsterdam via Rome on AZ 675 and AZ 108 on December 2nd, and then back on AZ 109 and AZ 674 on December 10th.
The Good 😀: the cabin overall was clean and the space on the widebodies was decent (for economy class). The quantity of food was sufficient. Passengers were free to walk to the galley to get water whenever we wanted, meaning we did not have to go thirsty during the flight. The onboard entertainment system screens were large. The airline did not feel the need to measure the weight of my carry-on luggage at any point.
The Meh 😐: The food was ok. Internet is available but it is slow and expensive. Checked luggage comes with additional charges even in international 12-hour-flights.
The Bad ☹️: the narrowbody planes felt cramped. AZ 109 experienced noticeable delays at Schiphol. Worst of all, my onboard entertainment system was badly malfunctioning on my 12-hour-flight back on AZ 674. The crew did attempt a couple of fixes but made no effort to check-up on me to see if the problem was solved. After about 4 hours and complaining multiple times, the crew did change me to another seat (also economy, naturally). Still, rather than trying to be helpful, they looked rather annoyed by my insistance; as if changing me to another seat was not so much a sympathetic way of solving my predicament, but rather an attempt to just stop me from bothering them.
The Infuriating 😡: The airline charges you up to USD100 for the magnanimous privilege of "choosing your seat" after you've already paid up to USD1'000 for the ticket itself! If you choose not to pay, they place you in the middle seat and then charge you an even larger amount to change to an aisle or window seat, even if plenty are available. This is such a sly and deceitful practice, if it is indeed true as it looks, that it alone is enough for me to recommend paying 10-20% more to fly with another company that handles seating more transparently.
