After the dreadful, chaotic, confusing and confused check in at Santiago airport. After learning that Easter Island passengers use the International Departures line not the Domestic. After learning that there is still another and unmarked special line for Easter Island passengers at the International Departures area. After all that, the service in business class to Easter Island and back was...

The good: LATAM is excellent at unloading and loading passengers. The have the passengers lined up and ready to board as soon as the last passenger is off. Really efficient. The bad: LATAM's check in process is so chaotic that you wonder whether they really want it to be that way. Far too few check-in staff, sometimes only one for...

The check=in process was shambolic with no information available and Latam staff hiding behind counters with little willingness to assist! We allowed 90 mins for check-in (internal flight) but thought we might miss the flight - we didn't as the pilot waited for the other 50 passengers to board who had allowed less time to check in than ourselves. I...

Latam is one of the few companies flying between Brazil and Chile. They try to keep the prices as low as possible, but it affects the overall quality of the service.

The flight was late to arrive at the airport. No information was made available, neither thru monitors nor by the scarce ground staff at the airport. We boarded the airplane and left the gate, just to sit in the tarmac awaiting for clearance. There was no traffic, we were not in line to take-off we were awaiting for paper work,...

We experienced a nightmare last night after flight 500 SCL- MIA closed the doors and left us stranded in Santiago even though we have checked in since 6:00 PM. The Paging system for Doors 21 though 23 cannot be heard anywhere else in the terminal but the Gate área making it useless. The glass door was closed nor were we...

We were in Chile for 2+ weeks and took several internal flights. I think the locals use this airline like we Brits use Ryanair etc. They don’t have any sort of boarding policy (apart from priority or small hand luggage) such as loading the passengers seated at the back first (which would be sensible when boarding from the front door)....

About LATAM Airlines
In August 2010, LAN and TAM Brazilian Airlines announced plans to merge their companies into a single brand and operation to be known as LATAM Airlines Group. TAM and LAN together serve around 115 destinations in 23 countries with a combined fleet of 280 aircraft. In May 2016, the new brand of the combined carrier was revealed and the phasing out of the individual airline identities began. While the airline will still maintain separate IATA codes for the former airlines, the identity, product and service standards have begun to be standardised. The merged carrier, the largest in Latin America, is known as LATAM Airlines, a member of the oneworld alliance.
