Came past here needing a great cup of coffee, something I had yet to find in Japan. Full of promise, and it delivered in spades. The Latte was expertly made, the coffee tasted fantastic, and the cream cake was divine. I went back later and...bought a coffee ice-cream - an amazing ice-cream, not too sweet or overpowering. I also bought a pack of coffee beans, which I am now enjoying as I write this review in Melbourne.More
I lost my 80-plus year old mother at Miyajima today. Out of desperation, I approached the staff of this cafe to ask if they had seen her. They said no. I asked for direction to the nearest police station, they gestured the direction to me....Asked if they could help me call the police (didn’t want to leave the location where I last saw my mom), they said they didn’t have any telephone. As my 7yo boy also desperately needed to pee, I asked if he could use the toilet so we didn’t waste any more time looking for my mom, they said toilet was only for guests. So I had to bring my boy to the nearest toilet which was about a 10-15 minute walk to and back, and wasted more time. Now, this is seriously not what I expect in Japan of all places. Where its people are known for being polite and helpful, where I’ve had many past pleasant experiences. I’m not sure if this is how Itsuki Coffee trains and selects its staff, but all the staff in the shop are equally unsympathetic. Even the young man whom they referred to as their manager/supervisor. I approached the staff of the shop next door out of desperation and was greeted with a totally different experience. He tried calling the police station for me but no one picked up. He then offered me a map - in English, no less - so that I can find my way to the police station. What a pleasant change from the staff at Itsuki Coffee - shame on you!More
I was exploring Miyajima with a friend on an extremely hot and humid October day when I announced I could not go much further without some cooling ice cream. Just as I said this, I had to back up to avoid a deer, racing after...a visitor, who was carrying corn. As we stood watching the spectacle, I realized that we had stopped in front of Itsuki, which had big ads outside for its soft-serve coffee ice cream. In we went to a charming, simple establishment with wooden tables and chairs. Itsuki is the only company that roasts coffee beans in Miyajima and customers sat sipping some of the hot coffee offerings. Though I was sorely tempted to order a cafe latte, I stuck with my original plan to have coffee ice cream. Served in a cone, the cold treat (450 ¥) was rich, delicious and wonderfully refreshing. Staff here are upbeat, friendly and speak English. They make a major contribution to the most pleasant ambiance.More
Good coffee, trendy cafe and nice cream buns. Good place to start your walk around Miyajima before heading further back into the streets for lunch.
Love Miyajima Itsuki Coffee. The shop has a raw setup which is very cool and inviting. Staff are extremely friendly and the owner is always at the shop roasting beans.☕️
This was quite possibly the best coffee ice cream I've had. Super soft creamy and delicious. It's a cute little coffee shop that must be visited if you're passing through.
I always love to explore local cafe and turned out to be surprisingly delish cafe. I love the cafe latte in Itsuki Coffee cos the shot of the coffee was so spot on. Also this small cafe is always packed but they can handle the..."take-away" order very well, so we don't have to wait so long for the take-away. Love this cafe!More
Best coffee in Miyajima, possibly Hiroshima. They sell the standard drip coffee, Americano, Latte. You can ask for double shot with extra cost but they are well worth it. We ordered a Latte and it was as good as the ones at home in Australia.
We tried the coffee ice cream in a cup with crushed Oreo cookies and it was lovely. Possibly a bit too large for one each but we managed! Only seem to sell coffee flavoured items.
We entered to order one espresso, creamy puff and ice cream. Not enough for the waiter who required me to buy a beverage. I don't drink neither coffee or tea... So we just left. First experience for me on forced sale. We didn't appreciate it...at all. There are many places which more friendly attitude on the island.More
On a very hot day we visited Miyajima. After some walking we had smoothies, coffee and ice cream at this cozy littlest cafe. Everything tasted great. The best coffee and ice cream we have had on our trip to Japan. The smoothie was also very...nice, made with fresh oranges.More
I'm not much of a coffee drinker, which was fine because Itsuki Coffee has so much more to offer. While I was exploring Miyajima I made a quick stop in Itsuki to use the bathroom and get some dessert. I bought a delicious cream puff...and a really refreshing fruit smoothie that the deer outside wanted to share. It's also in a great location - in the residential area of Miyajima where there's not as many places to grab a bite/drink. Great quality and service.More
We are coffee connesiours and we have tried Miyajima Coffee in our last trip, so decided to try out this famous outlet too. It is located away from the busy Omotesando Street, but still minutes from the famous O-Torii Gate and road leading to Daishoin...Temple. A similarly small outfit which can seats around 20 pax, no Alfresco pls. The shop internal deco is simple, minimal (not spartan) but apt for a casual cuppa break. While preparing beautiful steamed-milk designs on espresso drinks isn't great science it is always a pleasure watching the young Japanese barrister preparing our drink and her well-rehearsed latte-art skill. Out came a multi-tier leave tulip-design, simply marvelous! But she was so fast that I din quite get the whole process; a pity ... We ordered their signature cream bun, a Iced-Latte and hot cappuccino. Cost 1130 yen total. Lovely and friendly staff but too busy to engage the coffee aficionados. The buns were terrific and filling - you must try them. A wonderful place, wonderful coffee! It did not quite blew-us-off but still great treat to great coffee and we simply loved the ambience!. Lazed for ½ hour before leaving the shop, and also Miyajima Island…. Domo arigato for the experience!More
We stumbled upon this little shop off the Main Street by accident and noticed the proper coffee machine and Italian roasted beans. By far the best coffee I’ve had in all of Japan including Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo! Also the most friendliness customer service! Glad...I came across this placeMore
