I don’t have enough words to thank Debbie, Etienne and team for going out of their way to make sure I had a place to stay, even though they were fully booked. I had a booking at Oyster Bay Nature Retreat in town just to find on arrival that there were other people staying. The owner of Oyster Bay Nature Retreat had his friends staying there but still took our money. Oyster Bay Lodge is a piece of heaven… BEAUTIFUL beach, peaceful… a place where you can escape from the city and find yourself. Amazing food prepared by Chef Chad, friendly staff… what more can you ask for? Thank you again for making my stay so special!

The staff was super helpfull All the meals was super good and tasty and a variety to choose from. Being close to the beach and the beach walk was great. The different walking paths are well laid out. It's a lovely quiet place and lovely with all the outdoor activities.

Firstly, the drive in 15 km on dirt or gravel is not what we're used to. Thankfully, it was a bit of fun in our 4 by 4. Less so if you were driving a Micra. However, you wouldn’t be running out to the shops so Oyster Bay Lodge is a retreat and the night we spent was not nearly enough. I would say that 2 to 3 days would do it. Read the website for the activities. This is a place to take advantage of the outdoors rather than relaxing in the relatively spartan rooms or common areas. The food was surprisingly good. No choice for dinner allows for a focus on quality over quantity. The breakfast was particularly good. Service was very friendly. A good place to chill.

What an unexpected surprise - superb setting within nature, hiking routes and activities abound - stay at least two nights (pref more!). Wonderful beach and indigenous forest. Very friendly and professional staff. Meals were an absolute delight! Would be great for families or groups or solo travelers just wanting to breathe and find peace. You will not be disappointed!

The cooks at the oyster bay lodge are the jewels in the crown of this amazing place. The food was excellent. A good choice for breakfast and although dinner was a set menu, it was well presented and beautifully cooked. It is just as well the food is good, as there is nowhere else to go, unless you are prepared to drive the 24km dirt track back to the main road! The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking. The vast woodlands/wetlands, beautiful walking trails and stunning beach gave us the feeling that we were alone in this paradise. We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay and would recommend it as total escape from hurly burly of everyday life. Lots of fun activities on offer too and staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you all.

What a magnificent place to stay. A more then beautifull room, spotless clean, open woodfire, quality coffee, great food and super professional and friendly staff. A huge private piece of land where you can walk or do some horse riding, including on the private beach. And then the massage.... What a great place to stay.

Our stay at oyster bay lodge was more than enjoyable. The beautiful scenery all around (white sand beach, sand dunes, forest hiking trails) made it hard to go back to the amazing room and vice versa. The beauty extends to the staff who are so warm, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. My boyfriend and I had an amazing last evening with grant and Daniela and we will always remember our stay at Oyster Bay Lodge. Thank you for everything! Can not recommend enough! Max and Barbara

We went on a 4 x 4 Dune Safari ! It must be on your bucket list of things to do in the Eastern Cape. Drive over sand dunes, be informed on fynbos and bird species as you drive along the trail. It is fun, informative, you will enjoy the drive on the "powder white" beach. A nice pick-nick stop on a dune where you can look out over the long sandy beach. Went for the day activity to Oyster lodge.
