Great activity but expected so much more. Got a bit bored after 7 minutes due to the few Sharks in the tank.

It is worth the visit when in the area and looking for something to do.

The place is clean, the price very reasonable and the staff very friendly, making the experience great.

Note/FYI: pictures cost more than double the activity

After being left disappointed that our whale watching and shark diving trips had been cancelled due to high winds I was ecstatic that Billy at Ocean Ventures said that he could still accommodate me for a beginner's surfing lesson. The shop was really easy to find and Billy was great at providing directions and advice via email prior to my lesson.

I lent a wetsuit from the shop as it was a pretty chilly day and spent an amazing hour in the surf with my lovely instructor in which I managed to stand up on a board for the first time ever!

Thanks again guys for a brilliant few hours (I definitely recommend the curry place just behind the shop for a bunny chow afterwards too!)

Wow! From never touching a surf board before, through instruction, help and tips, to the spectacular experience of riding a wave! I could never have done it without the help of our awesome instructor and perfect kit provided by Ocean Ventures. Absolutely loved it - what a thrill!

Went to rent a kayak and the staff were so helpful and friendly! The ocean is really rough on most days for a kayak so I would only recommend to experienced kayakers, as there are swimmers in the way often and a big wave that you can't control can put you and a bystander in harms way. Otherwise, that is the place to go! It's close to the beach, inexpensive and so fun

This great store located at the mouth of Ushaka Marine World in Durban offers a plethora of activities and enjoyment generally overlooked in the sea.

I would strongly suggest the following :

1. A guided sea kayak, we had Bongani take us through the hour long kayak which passed the well known vetches pier, shark nets and along the harbour mouth - just a few hundred meters away from the gigantic made for wonderful photos. We also passed a group of large crabs among the crevices of the rocks.

I suggest choosing a sunny day with calm waters, although even a few waves would be fine. R200 per hour with guide, R100 per hr per kayak without guide.

2. The seafari experience was enjoyed by my parents, a 60 minute tour of durban with some acute wave jumping released the inner child in them. The ride passes the old whale watching tower and peaks over the bluff on the south. R300pp

3. We hired the bodyboards here which were great too. There are also skate boards, bicycles, segways, sup boards, find and a whole lot more.

Although a bit rustic the store is owner run and are hands on, friendly and very helpful. There is a set of lockers available for belongings while you are at sea(possible to be hired too- not sure)

A thanks goes out to the guys who returned dad's cap that was left on the boat.

A must visit when at the sea!

Billy and team were helpful, welcoming and accommodating of us changing around
Had a great fun boat trip out, didn't see any dolphins or whales but trip before us saw 2 dolphin pods. Boat was a blast and we'd be back like a shot - do it.

We did a "Dolphin Tour". It wasn't worth it at all, since we didn't see anything. I know there is no guarantee to see dolphins, but at least they should try to find them. All they did was looking at the beach and telling us something about building Hotels.....
